Keystone Ridge
Designs Participates in
America's First Urban Garden Show
A first-of-its-kind product in a first-of-its-kind show. Keystone Ridge
Designs, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of site furniture,
participated in a groundbreaking event for the city of
Chicago
and the urban landscaping industry with their exclusive line of steel
furnishings.
Garden in
a City, held May 13th through May 21st in Chicago's Grant Park was America's
first and only urban horticulture and community greening show that featured over
40 display gardens, hands-on demonstrations and workshops, interactive play
areas for children and practical grassroots approaches to urban gardening.
Through working with Chicago firm Architecture Is Fun and the Chicago Park
District, Keystone Ridge Designs was invited to participate in the Children's
Median Midway Exhibit. An interactive exhibit designed specifically for
children by Peter Exley, the Children's Median Midway Exhibit allowed for kids
of all ages to experience the garden through all their senses. Keystone Ridge
Designs had a unique fit within the exhibit by supplying their Puddin Drippins®
line of children's furniture
along with coordinating adult-sized pieces.
Handcrafted to the same high standards of quality and craftsmanship and
representing smaller versions of their patented products, Puddin Drippins is a
collection offered by Keystone Ridge Designs, Inc. that adds child-sized options
to site furniture selection. A concept that is revolutionary in the industry,
the collection was the perfect fit into the Garden in a City exhibit. The steel
furniture created an aesthetic appeal with a high-gloss powder coated finish in
colors of Americana Red, Nantucket Blue and Sparkle Silver as well as added an
element of functionality for families to gather and children to play.
The fully-welded pieces included on site came from the Breakwater series of
products. Resembling weather clapboards utilized in early American
architecture, the Breakwater products on display were six Puddin Drippins picnic
tables, two benches with back, one flat bench and a Harvest table.
"In a
beautiful garden of color, surprise, mischief and exploration, the Keystone
Ridge tables fit right in - elegant and bright, small yet crafted, they
reflected the important aspects of the inventive design and respect for
children," said Architecture Is Fun designer Sharon Exley.
"We were
glad to see such an appropriate application of our children's furniture and we
welcomed the opportunity to be involved with such an important first-time event
for the city of Chicago," stated Keystone Ridge Designs president, Arthur Slear.
