Tradeshow Trips & Trends

The holiday season may be upon us and we may be well into planning for 2023, but before we get too far ahead of ourselves, we wanted to look back and recap our recent tradeshow season, highlighting a few of our favorite events we traveled to, the products we showcased, and the trends we discussed.

ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture

Last month, we headed to San Francisco, CA for the annual ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture. We have been supporting the ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects) organization and participating in their national tradeshow for many years, so it has been exciting to watch this event grow and evolve. With a 2022 theme of “Designing a Better Future,” landscape architects gathered for educational sessions, peer networking, and of course visiting the expo to find out what is new and newsworthy among suppliers in the landscape design field.

Keystone Ridge Designs showcased popular customization capabilities with laser cut designs and printed graphics incorporated into site furnishings. Capturing the interest of many attendees was our new Wilmington table set – a picnic-style table with clean lines, a modern-rustic appeal, and our proprietary KeyshieldArtTM wood-grain aluminum slats showcased in a weathered gray pattern. This table appeals to the trends for outdoor dining, office courtyards and creating other unique opportunities to connect with nature in public, educational, or commercial spaces. It was a memorable highlight from our booth!

NRPA Annual Conference

With an emerging emphasis on creating and rebuilding public parks and open spaces, the NRPA (National Recreation and Park Association) show is a great place to connect with the designers, planners and purchasers working to bring parks to life. This past October, we traveled to Phoenix, AZ to meet with park officials all across the country directly from the tradeshow floor. Themed “WE RISE UP for Parks and Recreation,” this tradeshow offered an optimistic outlook on how our parks programs and spaces can transform communities.

On the show floor, you saw innovative playground setups, sports courts, ideas for recreational programming, and our personal favorite, site furnishings. We showcased some of our outdoor standards that have proven themselves again and again in busy public park settings such as our Harmony litter receptacle, Sonance bike rack, and our classic Pullman bench with a center arm to showcase our ability to do simple modifications. We enjoyed many discussions with attendees about upcoming projects, innovative solutions to common problems, and grant funding available to improve their park facilities.

Main Street Now

The Main Street Now Conference brings together main street managers and commercial district revitalization leaders to discover new ideas and techniques that help communities to grow and thrive. This past May, we headed to Richmond, VA to promote our solutions in streetscape furnishings. In a switch from exhibiting one of our bench designs, we showcased individual chairs and discussed current trends for flexible spaces and movable seating. The Enzo chair offered a modern design from our new Enzo series while the Courtyard chair presented a durable classic outdoor chair. We also featured our Reading litter receptacle in our popular Chromite finish and our versatile Sonance bike rack.

Our tradeshow calendar is busy with other shows and events throughout the year as we seek out new ways to connect face-to-face with our clients, learn about industry trends, and promote our latest designs. We certainly have been happy to see these shows back in person and well attended with enthusiastic attendees who are passionate about outdoor spaces, community revitalization, and landscape design. We look forward to seeing everyone again on the show floor in 2023!
